Harzer Kiezfest
ZULA is joining this year’s Harzer Kiezfest in Berlin-Neukölln with our own stand.Under the motto “Diversity connects, together we are strong,” the neighborhood festival brings together local organizations, families, and residents for an afternoon of community, exchange, and celebration. Visitors can look forward to numerous stands, a diverse stage program, activities for children, and food and drinks. Come by, meet ZULA, discover our books, and celebrate a diverse neighborhood with us.

Reading & Discussion "We were wanderers"
How should we talk about war with children? “We Were Wanderers” tells a story about a Jewish family who fled Berlin to Shanghai in the 1930s, when Shanghai was the only place in the world that did not request any documents. Illustrator Sayali and author Wenling will hold a book reading at bis Buchladen, talking about the creation of this picture book and how they approached such as difficult subject. At the Untold Stories Children’s Literature Festival at Amerika-Gedenk-Bibliothek Berlin, ZULA author Jane Mbeba will read from “Pendo, so wie du bist”. This heartfelt story about vitiligo, friendship, belonging, and self-acceptance invites children to explore emotions, differences, and what it means to treat one another with kindness and respect. Free entry! UNTOLD STORIES is a three-day festival dedicated to children’s literature, storytelling, and artistic practice in multilingual and post-migrant contexts.
