We started ZULA because we did not see ourselves in the stories we grew up with. Too often, children from diverse backgrounds are missing or misrepresented.
Today, we are building the platform we once wished for. One where every child can see themselves reflected, feel confident, and fall in love with reading and imagination.
Based in Berlin, Germany, we work with creators, educators, and families who believe that representation in stories is essential. Let us build this together 💛

ZULA Tribe is our nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing diverse and inclusive storytelling through literacy, community, and creative initiatives. We believe every child deserves access to stories in which they can see themselves and every creator deserves the opportunity to have their voice heard. Through books, community events, multilingual resources, and educational programs, we help children strengthen their literacy, emotional intelligence, resilience, and sense of belonging. We also support and amplify authors and illustrators from underrepresented communities through initiatives such as our annual mentoring and co-creation program, the ZULA Book-A-Thon.
ZULA Kids is our children's publishing house and multimedia platform on a mission to make children's media more inclusive, accessible, and inspiring.We believe every child deserves to see themselves in the stories they read and hear, regardless of their background, language, identity, or learning style. From diverse picture books to assistive digital experiences, we create joyful, empowering stories and educational media that celebrate the richness of every child's identity while fostering empathy, confidence, and a lifelong love of reading. Working with authors and illustrators from underrepresented communities, we publish books and create multimedia experiences that help children develop literacy, emotional intelligence, resilience, and a strong sense of belonging.
