On October 17, Chapters Berlin was filled with painting, folding, gluing and imagination. At a creative workshop hosted by ZULA and the English-language bookstore in Moabit, children and their families turned ideas from four books into artworks of their own.
Amazing African Queens inspired colorful crowns with empowering words. Noa and the Fire Tiger sparked magical creatures whose feelings came to life through colors, shapes and facial expressions. Black T inspired children to create their own ideal planets. With paper, cotton wool and many other materials, their ideas took shape.
A shared Language Tree, inspired by In the Language of the Land, brought the children’s words together. Their Story Passports accompanied them through the different story worlds.
Chapters combines English-language literature with a varied events program, creating a meeting place for readers in the neighborhood. The workshop showed how books can spark shared creativity and ideas of our own.
Thank you to the Chapters team and all the families who took part!
