BERLIN, July 7, 2026 – Today, ZULA Kids announces the release of the new picture book, „Khari zieht aus.“ Designed for children ages five to eight, the story provides a playful exploration of independence, imagination, and the journey of finding one’s place in the world.
„Khari zieht aus“ follows Khari, who is ready to move out and find a new home within their own apartment building. Armed with imagination and determination, Khari sets off on a journey and discovers that independence comes with unexpected challenges. Ultimately, the story reaches a heartwarming conclusion: home is not just a place, but the people who make us feel safe, loved, and supported. The book serves as a wonderful resource for caregivers, educators, and teachers to discuss the milestones of growing up and the importance of belonging.
„Khari zieht aus is an invitation for children to celebrate their courage to be independent while cherishing the safety of family bonds,“ says author Yamundao Bah.
The narrative is written by Yamundao Bah. The expressive illustrations were created by German-Venezuelan artist El brujo (Denis S. Faneites Borges). This release is part of the publisher’s 12 new titles created during the annual Book-A-Thon, a mentoring initiative dedicated to providing a platform for creators from underrepresented communities and supporting them in bringing their creativity into the world.
